To create and run a SQLphone system, the following items need
to be considered :
i) The SQLphone designer software, which allows you to model and
test your application is available for free download. The runtime software licence costs £1900, which
allows for an unlimited number of active phone lines for a single
application.
ii) An Intel Dialogic card capable of handling 4 simultaneous calls
costs approximately £600.
iii) A PC running Windows 2000 or XP is required to run the system
on.
iv) A number of phone lines would need to be provided equal to the
maximum number of simultaneous incoming calls. Don't forget to factor
in the cost of monthly line rentals.
v) (optional) professionally recorded voice prompts to guide the
user through the system. Budget £300 - £600.
vi) Consultancy if required to design & build the flowcharts,
database, voice prompts and any file or data transfer mechanism.
vii) The cost (or profit) from using an 0845, 0870 or premium rate
number to access your system.
Assuming a 4 simultaneous caller system, and can you supply the
PC, phone lines and IT expertise, starting costs are approximately
£2500 + VAT. Penguin Computers are able to design & build
the flowcharts, database, arrange professional voice prompts and
file or data transfer mechanisms to provide a complete turnkey solution
for additional cost.
We also provide a complete 'rent-a-line' solution where we create
the interactive system for you and run it on our dedicated hardware.
Your callers access the system through 0800 (freephone), 0845 (local
rate), 0870 (national rate) or 09xx (premium rate) numbers.
'Rent-a-Line' can then email the data collected or make it available
on a website at a schedule to suit your business.
'Rent-a-Line' handles either a single or multiple concurrent calls
and removes the need for you to purchase, configure and maintain
the software and specialised hardware and requires no IT
expertise on your part.
